The Powder Room is the fun size candy bar of the home: It's not very big, it doesn't take long to do, & your wallet won't take a big hit refreshing it. And since it's a room most guests visit, it's the perfect place to let your personality & design smarts shine. Start with a new vanity you like or paint the one you have. Why? Because this sets the tone for the rest of the space, & it's usually the first item people notice. Next, find a mirror & lighting to coordinate with the faucet. Usually an over-the-mirror vanity light provides enough light, but it you choose beside-the-mirror sconces you may need an overhead light for additional illumination. Freshen the walls with a satin finish paint for the perfect amount of light reflection. Now it's time to be honest about your toilet. If sitting or rising from it feels like you've completed an Olympic level squat exercise, it's time to upgrade to a taller toilet. Consider a skirted toilet for easy cleanability & a sleek look. Unless the floor is damaged or you absolutely hate it, save money & time & work around it by distracting the eye upward. Framed travel photos (preferably without people, because who wants those extra eyes in the bathroom with you), artwork, & posters work well. Get even more creative by drawing the eye to the ceiling. I especially like to paint the ceiling with Sherwin Williams Soar because it looks like the perfect blue sky, but you can also apply a peel & stick mural or wallpaper. Peel & stick lets you reposition if needed, & believe me, this could save your sanity during installation. Finally, don't forget the nice things that really make the entire powder room experience nicer: A pretty soap dispenser, a fresh smelling candle, & extra toilet paper. Do all this, & people will know you for the Powder Room Queen/King you are. #inspiremehomedecor #interiordesignideas #interiordesire #interiordetails #interiorstyling #beautifulinteriordesign #interiordecor #bathroomdesign #bathroomremodel #bathroominspo #bathroominterior #bathroom #bathroominspiration #powderroom
